Does anyone actually believe government at any level is an overarching positive force for economic development? Well intentioned stewards of the public trust often do more to impede economic growth than facilitate it.
Gary,

My criticism of both sides of the political division of our nations leaders is equally distributed. I agree with you that what is best for America is for Congress to get their act together and do what is best for our nation.

With regard to the TBL tool, my critique was meant to be both encouraging that some new tools and approaches are coming and appreciated and to advise on my own user experience.

This tool was broadcast across the Internet as a working platform and thus I responded and followed the instructions, (which is not difficult) and it failed to perform.

Even in Beta it should have been more closely tested so that it would function before it was touted and released to the general public.

If there is criticism it is that it should not have been released to the masses until it worked flawlessly under high traffic simulations appropriately. It was rushed to market and failed to meet minimum performance thresholds.

I am very hopeful and supportive and even encouraging that it be fixed and released again. The staff has been awesome in following up with me from Portland University. I am a fan with high regard for their intended tools purpose.

Thank you for your comments and best regards.

I must agree with Chris. There is a consistent distinct political edge to Mr. Holbrook's comments that are annoying and inappropriate in this forum. We have witnessed far too much negativity on booth sides of the political isle. It is time to work TOGETHER on these issues and strive for more productive dialogue as opposed to constant pot shots from the sidelines focusing on what's wrong.
I for one will just skip your comments in the future until the political tone of divisiveness goes away. As stated, TBL applied in the economic development setting is a BETA, meaning it is open for improvement and thus should be treated as such.

Um, as your quote from DOC makes clear, the system is in Beta. Perhaps a better approach than saying it is a failure, would have been to leave a message to the developers so they can fix the problems you encountered.
